Our Plan

Cattellyst's focus communities face complex and powerful system forces that undermine the broader impact of progress in any single channel.  The dynamics of these systems cause hardships to endure year after year, despite noble work and extensive resources of global organizations and local leaders.  Combinations of actions powerful enough to create sustainable change at the system level exist, but are prevented by a broad set of barriers.

We identify and confront those barriers together with the community. In Kumirmari and other islands in the Sundarbans, we will bridge physical access, transportation, and logistics barriers with autonomous air vehicles delivering medical and commercial supplies day or night, and establishing a direct ferry service operated by the community and for the community. Together, we will empower farmers with access to affordable indigenous salt-tolerant crop species, and support them with agriculture drones that map the soil and monitor crops throughout the growing season. Together, we will open access to remote work and education opportunities, and facilitate access to the public social benefits of the modern economy in India.
